Description

A bottle of North Port-Brechin Highland single malt Scotch whisky. This was distilled in 1970 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for the Connoisseurs Choice range. We estimate this was bottled in the 1980s.

North Port, or Brechin, was established in 1820 in the eastern Highlands under the name Townhead. The name was changed to Brechin in 1832, and to North Port in 1839. Throughout its lifetime, the majority of its output went into blends. The first official bottlings were Rare Malts releases in the mid 1990s, 10 years after the distillery closed.
