Description

A bottle of Ardmore 16 Year Old. This was distilled on 26 February 1990, matured in a bourbon barrel, and bottled on 8 August 2006 by Signatory Vintage.

This is bottle number 67 of 162; it was bottled from cask number 30017.

Ardmore was founded in 1898 by William Teacher's son Adam, who decided that the family needed their own malt whisky distillery. It has been an important component in the Teacher's blend since the beginning, meaning it has remained understated as a single malt, with few official bottlings released. Aside from being, unusually, a peated Highland malt, it was also one of the last distilleries to switch from coal-fired to steam-heated stills.
