A bottle of Ardmore 1991 from independent bottler Malts of Scotland. This was matured in a Rum Barrel and bottled in March 2013.
This is bottle number 57 of 234; it was bottled from cask number MOS13018.
Ardmore was founded in 1898 by William Teacher's son Adam, who decided that the family needed their own malt whisky distillery. It has been an important component in the Teacher's blend since the beginning, meaning it has remained understated as a single malt, with few official bottlings released. Aside from being, unusually, a peated Highland malt, it was also one of the last distilleries to switch from coal-fired to steam-heated stills.
