A bottle of North Port-Brechin 1970, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail for the Connoisseurs Choice range.
North Port, or Brechin, was established in 1820 in the eastern Highlands under the name Townhead. The name was changed to Brechin in 1832, and to North Port in 1839. Throughout its lifetime, the majority of its output went into blends. The first official bottlings were Rare Malts releases in the mid 1990s, 10 years after the distillery closed.
