The Prince's Foundation Charity Auction

Bottle numbers 2-20 and 206 of HRH The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay's 1988 30 year old Royal Lochnagar single malt Scotch whisky in aid of His Royal Highness's charity, The Prince's Foundation.

We are delighted to announce the result of bottle numbers 2-20 and 206 of the highly collectible Royal Lochnagar 30 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, from the 1988 cask of HRH The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay auctioned in March 2019.

These 20 bottles were originally retained by The Prince’s Foundation for future fundraising. However, as a gesture of goodwill in thanks for the generosity shown from buyers in the auction of bottle number 1 and the sell-out ballot run by The Whisky Exchange in January, the charity released this last batch to give collectors a final chance to purchase a bottle of this unique release first hand.

Originally a gift to The Prince to mark the 140th anniversary of the first Royal visit to Royal Lochnagar Distillery, by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1848, His Royal Highness generously donated the cask to his charity, The Prince’s Foundation.

Bottled on The Prince’s 70th birthday, 14 November 2018, this is one of the oldest single cask releases of Royal Lochnagar Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

Of the original 206 individually numbered bottles, 184 bottles were offered for sale via ballot through The Whisky Exchange, one was placed in the Diageo Archive, and 20 have been retained by The Prince’s Foundation for further fundraising.

The first bottle, 001 of 206, was available exclusively from our February 2019 auction. See result

Bottle numbers 2-20 and 206 were available exclusively from our March 2019 auction. See result

Full proceeds from the auction of these bottles, including buyer’s commission, will go to The Prince’s Foundation (OSCR No. SC038770) to support the charity’s work at The Carriage at Ballater Station on Royal Deeside.
