Traditionally, the distilleries on Scotland's many islands were grouped in with the Highland producers. These days we group them as a region in their own right (excluding Islay).
From the Isle of Skye we have Talisker, noted for its peppery, maritime malt, and the more recently established Torabhaig; Orkney is home to Highland Park and Scapa distilleries; the beautiful Isle of Arran is the setting for Arran distillery; the little known Abhainn Dearg can be found on the remote Isle of Lewis; Jura distillery is on the sleepy Isle of, you guessed it, Jura; and the Isle of Mull's colourful capital Tobermory is home to the distillery of the same name.
