Description

A miniature bottle of Old Fettercairn Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky. This was bottled by Whyte & Mackay Distillers Ltd., we estimate in the 1980s.

Fettercairn distillery was founded in 1825 by local landowner Sir Alexander Ramsay and is set in the foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains. The distillery was sold just five years later to Sir John Gladstone, father of British Prime Minister William Gladstone. During his time in office, Gladstone passed legislation to reduce tax on whisky.
