Chartreuse Green Bottled Late 1960s - Tarragona 75cl

A bottle of green Chartreuse liqueur produced in Tarragona, Spain. We estimate this was bottled in the mid to late 1960s.

This presentation falls between the 'El Gruno' bottles which were made from 1965 to 1966, and the 'La Fabiola' bottles which were released between 1966 and 1985.

Please note, there is no size or ABV stated on the label but this appears to be a 75cl bottle.

Chartreuse has been produced by Carthusian monks in France since 1737. In the early 20th century, the monastery and distillery were nationalised by the French government. The monks, unwilling to give up their secret recipe, moved production to Tarragona, Spain. They later returned home and today all Chartreuse is produced in France.
