Liqueurs

Liqueur is not a legally defined category like Scotch whisky, but type of alcoholic drink made from spirits flavoured with fruit, herbs, spices, or other additions, and bottled with added sugar or sweetener. These are usually sweet, but can also be bitter, such as Italian Amaro and Elixir di China. Other well-known liqueurs include Campari, Chartreuse, Benedictine, Grand Marnier, and Cointreau. There are liqueurs for every occasion and they are essential ingredients for many cocktails.
