A miniature bottle of Glenury Royal Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky distilled in 1976, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail as part of the Connoisseurs Choice series. The bottling code indicates this was bottled in 1999.
Glenury Royal was founded in 1825 near Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, in the Eastern Highlands by Captain Robert Barclay. He was a colourful character who once walked 1000 miles in 1000 hours to win a bet. Glenury fell silent in 1983 and was closed 1985.
This lot comes from the extensive collection of a Merseyside collector who began his hobby with bottles bought for guests as digestifs at private dinner parties in the early 1970s. His interest led to him advertising in the UK national newspapers, and buying and selling bottles as far afield as Australia, America and Ireland, with his last significant addition being a collection he purchased from Stoke On Trent in 1984.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note wear to the box.
Note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. Older bottles often contain small amounts of sediment. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
