Nikka Yoichi Sherry Wood Finish Bottled 2018 70cl / 46%
A bottle of Nikka Yoichi Japanese single malt whisky, finished in cream sherry butts, and bottled in 2018.
Yoichi distillery was founded in 1934 and is the oldest Nikka Whisky distillery, the other being Miyagikyo in Sendai. Yoichi's location on the northern island of Hokkaido was chosen by Masataka Taketsuru, who noted similarities to what he had found during his years in Scotland: clean air, a good humidity for maturing whisky, and an abundance of water filtered through layers of peat.
