A bottle of La Grande Hermine Pastis from Canada. This is named after the main ship used by Jacques Cartier during his second voyage to New France in the 16th century. When the sailors reached the St Lawrence river and shed the ship's ballast of sand and rocks, new species of plant were introduced to the area. Six centuries later, some of these species, such as caraway, are used to flavour this Pastis.
