A bottle of 1981 Karuizawa, aged for 31 years in a sherry butt before being bottled in July 2013 at 60.5% ABV.

Karuizawa was founded in 1955 and was Japan’s smallest whisky distillery. In 1959, it became the first distillery to export whisky overseas. Sadly, Karuizawa distillery stopped production in 2000 and closed for good in 2011.
