A bottle of Highland Park 18 Year Old Earl Haakon Single Malt Scotch Whisky, bottled at natural cask strength of 54.9% ABV. This is the third and final release in Highland Park's Earl Magnus series.
This is one of 3300 bottles.
Named for Magnus's cousin Haakon, who ruled jointly with him until 1114 when they fell out and Magnus was executed.
The history of Highland Park distillery is shrouded in mystery. It was built on the remote island of Orkney in 1798 by farmer David Robertson, or the site of an old bothy of the priest turned whisky smuggler Magnus Eunson.
The first single malts were released in the 1970s and the distillery has become known for its use of Orcadian peat to dry the barley (lighter than mainland or Islay peat) and sherry casks for maturation.

Older bottles often contain small amounts of sediment. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
