A limited edition bottle of Talisker Single Malt Scotch Whisky. This was distilled on 10 December 1998, matured in a single refill sherry butt, and bottled at 56.6% ABV on 27 July 2017. This was bottled for the Autumn Banquet of The Keepers of the Quaich, an international society that recognises those that have shown outstanding commitment to the Scotch whisky industry.
This is one of 618 bottles; it was bottled from cask number 6829.
Talisker was founded in 1830 by Hugh MacAskill and is the oldest distillery on the Isle of Skye. The Scottish poet Robert Louis Stevenson described it as 'the king o' drinks', and it is known for its powerful peat smoke and maritime character.
