Bruichladdich 1986 15 Year Old Bottled 2001 - Murray McDavid 5cl

A miniature bottle of Bruichladdich 15 Year Old Islay single malt Scotch whisky. This was distilled in 1986, matured in a single bourbon barrel and bottled by Murray McDavid in 2001.

This was bottled from cask number MM3114.

Bruichladdich's unpeated character sets it apart from its Islay neighbours. It was built by brothers William, Richard and John Harvey in 1881 and, like its late Victorian counterparts, mainly produced malt to supply blends. The distillery passed through several owners during the 20th century and joined Whyte & Mackay's portfolio in 1993. It was closed for a short period until it was purchased by Murray McDavid and reopened in 2001. Today the distillery is owned by Rémy Cointreau.

This lot comes from the extensive collection of a Merseyside collector who began his hobby with bottles bought for guests as digestifs at private dinner parties in the early 1970s. His interest led to him advertising in the UK national newspapers, and buying and selling bottles as far afield as Australia, America and Ireland, with his last significant addition being a collection he purchased from Stoke On Trent in 1984.
