Description

A bottle of Talisker 1972 Isle of Sky Pure Highland Malt Scotch Whisky, bonded and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail. We estimate this was bottled in the 1980s.

The label includes '105° Proof' in the top corners, which appears to have been obscured with a gold strip which has since worn away. '40% ABV' is printed below.

Talisker was founded in 1830 by Hugh MacAskill and is the oldest distillery on the Isle of Skye. The Scottish poet Robert Louis Stevenson described it as 'the king o' drinks', and it is known for its powerful peat smoke and maritime character.
