Kagoshima 1984 25 Years Old Sherry Cask 72cl

A 1984 Kagoshima, this was aged for 25 years in sherry casks. Five remaining casks from the distillery were vatted together, then aged for an additional five years before bottling in the late 2000s.

The distillery only produced whisky for 32 years and ceased whisky production in 1984 but, before then, it had made a malt whisky by the brand name of Satsuma Whisky in a city known as 'The Naples of the East'. The liquid in this bottle would have been some of the last to have been distilled in what was Japan's southern most distillery.
