Description

A bottle of The Singleton of Auchroisk 1975 single malt Scotch whisky. We estimate this was bottled in the 1980s.

Auchroisk was built in 1972 to provide malt for the J & B blends. The first single malt was released in 1986 under the Singleton brand, and the maturation process was an early example of cask-finishing, with boubon-matured malt transferred to sherry casks for a further two years ageing. This pioneering move was not highly publicised, so The Balvenie and Glenmorangie are generally recognised as the first to experiment with cask-finishing.
