A bottle of Springbank single malt Scotch whisky. This was distilled on 11 July 1972 and bottled from a single cask by Murray McDavid exclusively for La Réserve. We estimate this was bottled in the mid 1990s.
This was bottled from cask number 141.
La Réserve was a small chain of London wine shops founded in the 1980s by Mark Reynier and Simon Coughlin. In 1996, the pair partnered with Springbank distillery owner Gordon Wright to found independent bottler Murray McDavid.
Springbank is a family-owned Campbeltown distillery, founded in 1828. The complete process of whisky production is carried out on site, from malting the barley to bottling the whisky. Today, it is one of only three distilleries remaining in Campbeltown.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note wear to the labels. The capsule is partially broken.
Note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. Older bottles often contain small amounts of sediment.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
