Description

A bottle of Thomas H Handy Sazerac straight rye whiskey, bottled at 63.1% ABV in 2016 as part of the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection.

Buffalo Trace distillery was built in 1792 and was known by many other names, including George T Stagg distillery and Old Fire Copper distillery, before it was given the name Buffalo Trace in 1999. The name refers to an ancient buffalo crossing on the banks of the Kentucky river. It claims to be the oldest operational distillery in the US and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2013.
