Aberfeldy 1978 Bottled 1993 - 15th Anniversary 5cl

A miniature bottle of Aberfeldy 15 Year Old. This was distilled on 15 December 1978 and bottled to commemorate the 15th anniversary of The Mini Bottle Club in December 1993.

This is one of 120 bottles; it was bottled from cask number 7795.

Aberfeldy distillery was built in 1896 by John Dewar & Sons, just yards from the Pitilie Burn, which is the distillery's water source to this day. The distillery was forced to close for two years to conserve stocks of barley for food rations at the end of World War One. Most of its output went in to the Dewar's blend, and in 1999, Aberfeldy became a single malt whisky brand in its own right with the launch of Aberfeldy 12 Year Old.

This lot comes from the extensive collection of a Merseyside collector who began his hobby with bottles bought for guests as digestifs at private dinner parties in the early 1970s. His interest led to him advertising in the UK national newspapers, and buying and selling bottles as far afield as Australia, America and Ireland, with his last significant addition being a collection he purchased from Stoke On Trent in 1984.
