A bottle of Old Fettercairn Uisge Beatha single malt Scotch whisky. We estimate this was bottled in the 1970s.
Uisge Beatha is Scottish Gaelic for 'water of life', and is the origin of the English word 'whisky'.
Fettercairn distillery was founded in 1825 by local landowner Sir Alexander Ramsay and is set in the foothills of the Cairngorm Mountains. The distillery was sold just five years later to Sir John Gladstone, father of British Prime Minister William Gladstone. During his time in office, Gladstone passed legislation to reduce tax on whisky.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. This has been painted with varnish by a previous owner to prevent evaporation.
