Description

An old presentation bottle of Yoichi 15 Year Old single malt from japan, produced by The Nikka Whisky Distilling Co. Ltd.

Yoichi distillery was founded in 1934 and is the oldest Nikka Whisky distillery, the other being Miyagikyo in Sendai. Yoichi's location on the northern island of Hokkaido was chosen by Masataka Taketsuru, who noted similarities to what he had found during his years in Scotland: clean air, a good humidity for maturing whisky, and an abundance of water filtered through layers of peat.
