A bottle of Luxardo Maraschino liqueur, presented in a tall bottle with straw casing. We estimate this was bottled in the 1980s.
Maraschino liqueur is traditionally made from the Marasca cherries grown along the Dalmatia coast, Croatia. It was first produced on an large scale by Venetian merchant Francesco Drioli. The traditional square green bottles were originally produced by Murano, and the straw covering, known as a fiasco, was introduced to protect the bottles during transit.
