Sherry butt

Japanese Single Malt Whisky





A bottle of Karuizawa 31 Year Old, Prendre le Rythme. This was distilled in October 1981, matured in a single sherry butt, and bottled in July 2013 for French whisky merchant La Maison du Whisky. This is bottle is signed by Paris-based artist Yuuka Yamada who designed the label.

This is bottled from cask number 78.

Karuizawa was founded in 1955 and was Japan’s smallest whisky distillery. In 1959, it became the first distillery to export whisky overseas. Sadly, Karuizawa distillery stopped production in 2000 and closed for good in 2011.
