Nikka Yoichi 1988 Single Cask Donated By Nikka 70cl / 62%
A bottle of Nikka Single Cask Malt Whisky. This was distilled on 14 June 1988 at Yoichi distillery, matured in a single cask, and bottled at cask strength on 8 April 2013.
This was bottled from cask number 100212.
Yoichi distillery was founded in 1934 and is the oldest Nikka Whisky distillery, the other being Miyagikyo in Sendai. Yoichi's location on the northern island of Hokkaido was chosen by Masataka Taketsuru, who noted similarities to what he had found during his years in Scotland: clean air, a good humidity for maturing whisky, and an abundance of water filtered through layers of peat.
