Chartreuse Green Bottled 1951-1956 - France 75cl / 55%
A bottle of green Chartreuse liqueur from France. We estimate this was bottled between 1951 and 1956.
Chartreuse has been produced by Carthusian monks in France since 1737. In the early 20th century, the monastery and distillery were nationalised by the French government. The monks, unwilling to give up their secret recipe, moved production to Tarragona, Spain. They later returned home and today all Chartreuse is produced in France.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note wear to the labels and plastic wrapping. There is some staining to the capsule which suggests this may have leaked slightly in the past.
Note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
