A bottle of Chartreuse Yellow liqueur. This was produced in Tarragona, Spain, we estimate it was bottled between 1904 and 1930.
There is no size or ABV stated, but this appears to be a 50cl bottle.
Chartreuse has been produced by Carthusian monks in France since 1737. In the early 20th century, the monastery and distillery were nationalised by the French government. The monks, unwilling to give up their secret recipe, moved production to Tarragona, Spain. They later returned home and today all Chartreuse is produced in France.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note wear to the labels and damage to the wax seal. The Chartreuse emblem is faintly visible on the wax seal.
Note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
