Description

A bottle of Karuizawa this was distilled in January 1979, released for La Maison du Whisky in France aged in ex-bourbon casks and bottled in July 2014 at 58.8% ABV.

This is bottled from cask number 8187.

Karuizawa was founded in 1955 and was Japan’s smallest whisky distillery. In 1959, it became the first distillery to export whisky overseas. Sadly, Karuizawa distillery stopped production in 2000 and closed for good in 2011.
