Bottle Auction

Description

A bottle of Chartreuse Yellow liqueur from France. We estimate this was bottled between 1941 and 1951.

The label is a reproduction of those used in the 19th century, and was created to celebrate the first anniversary of the Carthusian monks returning to Chartreuse in June 1940.

Chartreuse has been produced by Carthusian monks in France since 1737. In the early 20th century, the monastery and distillery were nationalised by the French government. The monks, unwilling to give up their secret recipe, moved production to Tarragona, Spain. They later returned home and today all Chartreuse is produced in France.

Please note that this bottle does not state any size or ABV however we estimate that it is a 75cl bottle.

Due to the fragility of the cork/closure we recommend this for collection only, and it is shipped entirely at the buyer's own risk.
