A 50cl bottle of Chartreuse VEP Green liqueur from France. This comes in a wooden presentation box.
This is bottle number 004786.
The Carthusian monks who produce Chartreuse select a small portion of the liqueur each year for extra ageing. VEP stands for 'Vieillissement Exceptionnellement Prolongé', which translates as 'exceptionally prolonged ageing'.
We estimate that this was bottled from the middle-end of the 1980s.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note general wear and damage to the capsule. This bottle has a wax seal and shoulder stamp. Please note, we cannot guarantee these will not deteriorate or crack if shipped, and it is shipped entirely at the buyer's own risk.
The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. Older bottles often contain small amounts of sediment. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
