A bottle of 1990 Corton-Charlemagne Domaine Coche-Dury from one of Burgundy's most celebrated hillside vineyards.
'The finest white wine I enjoyed in 2019 was a pristinely preserved bottle of Coche-Dury's 1990 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, a stunning achievement that soars from the glass with scents of orange oil, Anjou pear and ripe citrus fruit mingled with notions of honeycomb, freshly baked bread, praline and cinnamon. Full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, this is a concentrated, elegantly muscular wine of immense depth and dimension, its ample and layered core of fruit built around racy acids and beautifully rendered dry extract. Fully mature but in no danger of decline, this is one of the greatest bottles I've drunk from Jean-François Coche.' 100 Points William Kelley - The Wine Advocate, 16 July 2020

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
