This lot was donated by Stewart Laing to raise money for The Maclean Foundation.
A bottle of Ben Nevis 31 Year Old, distilled in January 1991 and bottled in May 2022 for Hunter Laing's Old & Rare Platinum Selection series.
'This is the oldest expression of Ben Nevis I have ever encountered. It has been drawn from a first-fill European oak butt and is a remarkably dark colour. It was kindly donated by Stewart Laing, managing director of his family company, Hunter Laing, who writes: “Very rich and concentrated on the nose, with dark fruits – plums, blackberries – combined with beef stock and the darkest chocolate …”. Hugely generous, Stewart. Many thanks.' Charlie Maclean
