A sensational Karuizawa from the famed 1981 vintage, bottled in 2011 at cask strength – 57.5%.

This was fully matured in a first fill sherry cask #6256.

Karuizawa was founded in 1955 and was Japan’s smallest whisky distillery. In 1959, they became the first distillery to export whisky overseas. Sadly, Karuizawa distillery stopped production in 2000 and closed for good in 2011.
