Karuizawa 1990 vintage bottled at cask strength – 56.1% – after full-term maturation in a first fill sherry cask #679.

This bottling tends more to the dry, spicy, savoury side of Karuizawa's character.

Karuizawa was founded in 1955 and was Japan’s smallest whisky distillery. In 1959, they became the first distillery to export whisky overseas. Sadly, Karuizawa distillery stopped production in 2000 and closed for good in 2011.
