A bottle of Karuizawa from the 36 Views of Mount Fuji series. Each bottle in this series was produced from Karuizawa's final two vintages, 1999 and 2000, and are bottled at cask strength.
The labels feature artwork by Japanese ukiyo-e artist Hokusai, depicting Mount Fuji from different aspects.
This bottle is from Batch 36 and features the painting 'Gaifu, Kaisei - Fine Wind, Clear Morning'. Also known as South Wind, Clear Sky or Red Fuji.
A red mountain view, against an Autumn mackerel sky background.
The point of the perspective to the Red Fuji is still unknown, however according to theories, he may have drawn from the view of the Lake Kawaguchi.
