Dubonnet

Dubonnet was first sold by Joseph Dubonnet in response to a competition run by the French government who were looking for a way to encourage their Foreign Legion to drink quinine, a bitter substance used to combat malaria.

Dubonnet was also well known as the Queen Mother's favourite drink.
