A bottle of 1906 Exceptionnellement Vieux Grande Champagne Cognac from the personal collection of Jacques Hardy. This comes in a 75cl hand-blown bottle sealed with wax and is presented in a wooden case.
Jacques Hardy was managing director of Hardy Cognac from the late 1950s until his retirement in 1999. During this time, he sourced old demi-johns from local growers and stored them in his personal cellar.
This was first bottled in 1978 and rebottled in 2002 for a private collector. This is bottle number 4 of 56.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Unlike the other bottles in this collection, the box does not have a plaque stating the vintage.
Note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. Older bottles often contain small amounts of sediment. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
