A bottle of Richebourg 1994 from Domaine Leroy, considered by many to be the greatest of all red wine Domaines in Burgundy. In addition to owning 25% of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Lalou Bize-Leroy has 23 hectares of biodynamically farmed vines, mostly Premier and Grand Cru. Average yields throughout are a tiny 16 hl/ha.
The Richebourg vineyard is approximately eight hectares in total, divided between nine notable producers and responsible for producing around 26000 bottles in total per year.
'This is the greatest estate in Burgundy…The sheer concentration, depth and intensity Lalou Bize-Leroy manages to squeeze into her bottles is breathtaking.' Clive Coates MW
This is bottle number 0545 of 1746.
