Description

A bottle of Vallana Gattinara 1996 made from Nebbiolo grapes (known locally by the synonym 'Spanna') in Alto Piemonte, 100 kilometres north of Barolo. Vallana work around 10 hectares of vines in total. This was vinified in large cement tanks, matured for at least 2 years in 500 litre to 1000 litre large oak barrels and given several years in bottle before release.

This lot comes from the temperature-controlled cellar of media businessman and wine enthusiast Lord Evgeny Lebedev, where it has been kept since purchase direct from UK importers.
