This lot contains three magnum bottles of Volnay Les Fremiets 2004 from producer François Charles. Fremiets is a Premier Cru vineyard in the Volnay appellation in the Côte de Beaune, situated immediately north of the village of Volnay. Soils here have a percentage of iron in their make up, unusually for the appellation, which results in a more structured, masculine style than is typical, making them more similar to the wines of neighbouring Pommard.

This lot comes from the temperature-controlled cellar of media businessman and wine enthusiast Lord Evgeny Lebedev, where they have been kept since purchase direct from UK importers.
