Guigal 2008 Condrieu La Doriane 3 x 75cl / 13.5%
This lot contains three bottles of 2008 Condrieu La Doriane from winemaker E Guigal.
'Quite full yellow colour; wide, apricot-beeswax nose, honey present, too. The palate has a pretty, juicy nature – it is refined and persistent, comes with the mystery of some spice alongside the traditional cooked pear flavour. Lovely length on this – it is aromatic and gives a mix of finesse and power. Very beau, I go for its late juiciness, mingled in with oak traces. Bottled June 2009. 14.2°. To 2018-19. “The most handsome crop that I have brought in for La Doriane was in 2008. After a year of bottle, its 100% new oak is well within the wine,” P.Guigal. July 2010' John Livingstone-Learmonth - DrinkRhone
This lot comes from the temperature-controlled cellar of media businessman and wine enthusiast Lord Evgeny Lebedev, where they have been kept since purchase direct from UK importers.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note wear to the labels.
Please note, received wisdom is that Condrieu is an unusual fine wine style generally best-consumed within four to eight years of release, though others enjoy them for their developed ‘secondary’ characteristics which come with additional bottle age. These bottles have been impeccably kept in a London cellar since purchase.
Note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. Older bottles often contain small amounts of sediment. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
