A bottle of 2001 Château Léoville Barton from Bordeaux's Saint-Julien appellation.
Léoville Barton is a 'second growth' 45 hectare property planted with 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc, and is known for its consistent, classic Saint Julien style and sensible pricing.
'Very reticent nose, great texture and bone dry. This is very confident but still pretty austere. Delicacy on the finish and real density. Long but no bruiser.... Drink 2012-2025.18/20' Jancis Robinson MW, tasted 2008.
This lot comes from the temperature-controlled cellar of media businessman and wine enthusiast Lord Evgeny Lebedev, where it has been kept since purchase direct from UK importers.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note wear to the label and capsule.
