Description

A magnum bottle of Maximin Grünhaus 2018 Abtsberg Riesling Spätlese from Germany's Mosel Valley.

The 14 hectare south-facing Abtsberg vineyard is planted on blue Devonian slate subsoil on an incredibly steep 70% gradient two kilometres from where the river Ruwer meets the Mosel, and the Maximin Grünhaus estate itself has a history of viticulture that dates back to Roman times.

'This offers a very intense, lime and herb nose and fresh minerals, delivering a very harmonious impression. The depth and sense of seamlessness here is incredible.
