Description

A litre bottle of Dubonnet Wine Aperitif, a fortified wine flavoured with herbs, spices, and quinine. We estimate this was bottled in the 1950s.

Please note, there is no ABV stated on the labels.

Dubonnet was first sold by Joseph Dubonnet in response to a competition run by the French government who were looking for a way to encourage their Foreign Legion to drink quinine, a bitter substance used to combat malaria. Dubonnet was also known as the Queen Mother's favourite drink.

This Dubonnet sold at our online auction for £45
