Lot Information

Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The second edition of Glenfarclas 22 Year Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky. This was distilled in 1992 and bottled from a single cask selected by Regimental Sergeant Major 22 Special Air Service on the 17th of September 2014.

This bottle is specially engraved for 22nd Special Air Service Regiment and features the insignia and motto. Also included is an SAS medallion held in a wooden plaque.

The back of the bottle carries a passage from James Elroy Flecker's 'Hassan: The Story of Hassan of Baghdad and How he Came to Make the Golden Journey to Samarkand'. This verse is also inscribed on the clock tower of the barracks of the British Army's 22 Special Air Service regiment:

We are the Pilgrims, master, we shall go
Always a little further, it may be
Beyond the last blue mountains
barred with snow,
Across that angry or that glimmering sea.

This is bottle number 292 of 420; it was bottled from cask number 2870.
