The second release of Glenfiddich 50 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky. This is a vatting of two casks which were selected from Warehouse 8 by the distillery's Malt Master David Stewart on 1 September 2008. The casks were married for six months in an American oak barrel and finally bottled on 15 July 2009 at 46.1% ABV.
The numbered, handblown bottle features a sterling silver stopper, collar and label made by sixth generation silversmith Thomas Fattorini. It comes in a silk lined, leather bound case inspired by William Grant's personal journal, with two keys to secure the whisky. A leather bound book contains history of the distillery as well as a certificate of authenticity and tasting notes.
Just 450 bottles were produced, with 50 released worldwide each year.
This is bottle number 173, Release No. 2
