A bottle of 1985 Belle Epoque Champagne. Belle Epoque is the Perrier-Jouët's top cuvée and is presented in a hand-painted 'flower' bottle. The 1985 is a blend of 45% Pinot Noir, 5% Pinot Meunier and 50% Chardonnay.
This was rated highly by Champagne critic Richard Juhlin who scored it 95/100 who noted it for its elegance and predicted it would age along similar lines to the 1973.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note wear to the box and damage to the back labels.
As this is a mature Champagne it is likely that it has lost its bubbles naturally over time. It is also natural for the liquid to have oxidised and become darker.
Note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. Older bottles often contain small amounts of sediment. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
