Description

A bottle of Dalwhinnie 1992 Single Highland Malt Scotch Whisky, the first Dalwhinnie release in the Distillers Edition series. This was double matured in oloroso sherry casks and bottled in 2010.

When Dalwhinnie was built in 1897 the distillery was called Strathspey. The owners changed the name to Dalwhinnie, which means 'Plain of Meetings' in Gaelic, when production started in 1898. The name is a reference to its location at a junction of old drove roads, between two mountain ranges. A fire in 1934 caused a four year closure.
